Biography :: 17th January 2008

The blackned Death Metal Art entity In Tha Umbra was assembled in January 1996, in Algarve, Portugal, by Brün K. Diaboliih, João Marques, Bob H. J. Sneijers and Scott.
Later that year the presentation tape " Of The Singing Dusk... " was recorded and released, gaining high recognition and amazing reviews worldwide.

By the end of the year In Tha Umbra signed a deal with Art Music Productions from Portugal, and the debut album " Descend Supreme Sunset " was recorded in the summer of 1997, only to be released in 1998.

In 1999 the band recorded the 7" EP " The Göatblöd 666 ", to be released by Hibernia and later that same year the band recorded what was to be the second album, " Midnight In The Garden Of Hell ", released in 2000 by Hibernia once more.

Just before the release of this album, Bob H. J. Sneijers decided to leave the band, and Bruno Miguel Bernardo, from Teasanna Satanna joined as a replacement.
It was only in 2002 that In Tha Umbra would record new material, in the form of the special CD-r " Pentagramma ", which comprised of 3 new songs, 2 cover-versions [ Motörhead and Celtic Frost ], old re-recorded songs and live material.

By the end of 2002, Scott leaves the band and moves to Holland, and so, Calhau Jr. from Teasanna Satanna has been playing with In Tha Umbra as a session bass player.

With the coming of 2004, In Tha Umbra started the pre-production for the third album " Nigrium Nigrius Nigro ", and scheduled the recordings for summer. In the meantime In Tha Umbra signed a 2 album deal with Polish label Agonia Records. At this time Calhau Jr. who has been playing live with the band since 2002 became officially In Tha Umbra's bass player.

In 2005 " Nigrium Nigrius Nigro " was finally ready for release and also the videoclip of the song " The Horrent Damaskt " was played on National cable television.
In Tha Umbra has kept a busy concert agenda, concerning the limited Portuguese underground circuit, having played until now more than 50 concerts all over the country.

By March 2007 In Tha Umbra enter ZipMix studio in Olhão, Algarve, to record the 4th album, having Calhau Jr. moved to Scotland right after the recording sessions and so leaving the band, having Ruben from thrash band Deathland been filling up the slot for the band's live activity.
Finally in January 2008 the new album, "Thus Open Thine Eerie Wings Like And Eagle And Soar The Winds Of Chaos" was mixed and mastered by Daniel Cardoso, which played in Sirius and shares with Garm from Ulver the project HeadControlSystem, and a release date has been set by Agonia Records for the 16th of May.
